FAQ - NZMM Guitar Record Challenge

What to bring on the day?
Guitar and ID if you look under age (ID is only required if you fancy a drink and are at legal age).

What time should I be there?

Rock up with your guitar at 11am

Who's going to be there?
Jordan Luck, Jason Kerrison of Opshop, Nick Major from Autozamm, Auckland MP Nikki Kaye, TV2's Go Girls, Sky Sport's Scotty Sumo Stevenson, Crowd Goes Wild reporter James Somerset, Joel from GoodNight Nurse, Brooke Howard-Smith, Rog from the Rock's Morning Rumble and loads of other Kiwi artists and celebrities.

What's happening afterwards? 

After we have set the NZ Music Month Guitar Record Challenge there will be a 45 minute free concert with Jordan Luck and his band.

Is there an after party?
Yes there is, so grab your mates for a beer at The Deck on level 2 at SKYCITY and join another jam of NZ muso's!  

Will my guitar be safe?
Security staff are on site, however, your belongings are your responsibility and SKYCITY and JUICE TV takes no responsibility for lost or stolen items. 

Where can I leave my guitar case?
It might be good idea to leave your guitar cases in your vehicle.  There is no cloakroom facility for you to leave them in during the challenge.  Otherwise keep them with you at all times. 

How do I get there?
There's heaps of ways to get to SKYCITY.  Buses, trains and plenty of parking onsite if you want to drive (see discounted parking).

How much is parking - are there any discounts?
All guitarists can receive discounted parking at SKYCITY.  You just need to get your parking ticket stamped by the registration desk and pay maximum of $5 for your parking on the day.  This is only valid for the period between 6am Sunday to 6am Monday morning.  i.e. if you come at 10:30am have your ticket stamped and leave before 6am Monday morning your parking will cost maximum $5).

What happens if it's raining?
 
Rain or shine the event will be happening inside a warm dry venue so you and your guitar will be out of danger from wet weather.

What is the registration process? And where do I go?

After you have registered on line, visit the registration table on the day on Level 3 at SKYCITY (outside Bar 3 and Blend)  to receive your number and go in the draw to win some bar tabs for later.

Is there anywhere I can tune my guitar?
Yes, Music Works will have a tuning station onsite at SKYCITY where you can tune your guitar. 

Will I be on TV?

Juice TV are the main sponsor and will be filming the event so it's very likely if you turn up you'll be on TV!

What's the Prize Draw?
When you register you will be entered into the draw to win one of two  $50 bar tabs for The Deck Bar on level 2, SKYCITY.
